Background and Education
Kathryn Bailey is a highly accomplished Ph.D.-trained scientist with over 15 years of experience in leading-edge research areas, including molecular biology, microbiology, microbial physiology, biotechnology, and related disciplines. She hails from Georgia and has an extensive academic and professional background.
Kathryn received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Albany State University in Albany, GA. She then pursued her Master of Science in Marine Science and a Doctorate in Engineering Science from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. Following her Ph.D., Kathryn completed her post-doctoral studies at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge, TN.
Professional Experience
Kathryn’s career began as a Research Microbiologist with Synata Bio. In 2018, she transitioned to DSM (now DSM-Firmenich) as an Associate Scientist in the Biobased Products and Services division. She further expanded her expertise as an Engineering Specialist in HPV Process Development with Merck and Co. In 2022, Kathryn returned to Synata Bio, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team.
